Michael David McClendon, 70, of Cabot, passed away June 21, 2024.  He was born November 13, 1953 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late William Lafayette McClendon, Jr. and Anita Gail Farrand McClendon.  Mike enjoyed music and played the drums since his high school days.  He was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church and used his talent to play the drums during their worship time.

Mike proudly served his country for twenty-two years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant.  He worked at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, then went back to tech school and worked with Biomed equipment.  At Little Rock Air Force Base, he was in charge of the shop that serviced the equipment.  After his military retirement, Mike worked for Commercial Metals Company and then Valley Joist as a drafter and quality control inspector and Steel Encounters in Jacksonville.  In his spare time, he enjoyed cars and motorcycles.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his wife, Carol Ann McClendon; children, Aaron Devlin McClendon and Jennifer Elaine McClendon Abbott (Jesse Lee); four grandchildren, Luke Elijah Abbott, Savannah Rose Abbott, Sadie Grace Abbott and Josiah James Abbott; sister, Janis Kathleen Merritt (David) and nephews, Scott and Michael Merritt, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
