M. L. (Marvin) Moreland, 95, of Austin passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born September 6, 1925 in Bauxite to the late Oscar and Nellie Evans Moreland. Mr. Moreland served his country in the United States Navy during World War II on a mine sweeper in the Pacific theater. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 43 years and was also a cattle farmer. Mr. Moreland was an avid Bluegrass and Country music fan and had a very quick wit. He was tender-hearted and loved his family very much. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moreland was preceded in death by sons, Raymond "Butch" Moreland and Russell Moreland; grandson, Richard Moreland and sister, Mae Belle Lewellen.

Mr. Moreland is survived by his children, Garry Lee Moreland (Sally), Diane Moreland Huddleston (Larry), Charles Wayne Moreland (Linda), Gary Moreland (Melinda) and Michael Leon Moreland; long-time partner, Bea Moreland; sisters, Lou Gibbs and Pauline Hochberg and a large legacy of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Pastor Steve Zumalt will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Austin Cemetery.
