Norris Wayne Edmondson, 76, of Yukon, Oklahoma, formerly of Jacksonville, passed away on February 15, 2025. He was born August 11, 1948, in Austin.  Wayne was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years Karen Monroe Edmondson, of Yukon, Oklahoma.  He is also survived by his daughters, Brandy Edmondson of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Crystal Edmondson. He was grandfather to Chris and Joshua Edmondson, and a great-grandfather to Alana, all of Wichita Falls, Texas. Wayne is also survived by his bonus extended family, including Erik, Lezlie, Cohen and Addyson Kropf of Yukon, Oklahoma and Ashley Kropf of Jacksonville.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, James and Vida Lou Edmondson of Austin, and his siblings, Cathy Nordsletten (David) of Cabot and Roger Dale Edmondson of Austin.

Wayne grew up in Ward, and graduated from Cabot High School in 1966. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in California and Arkansas. Following his military service, Wayne worked various jobs in the Ward area before securing a position with Arkansas Power & Light, where he worked at Baseline Road in Little Rock, and later at the Jacksonville office, retiring in 2003 after 29 years. He also retired from the United States Army Reserves after 30 years of service.

Wayne enjoyed hobbies of racing IMCA Modified dirt track race cars, casinos, and traveling.  He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his passion for racing, his good friends Jerry and Tish Cartwright of Vilonia and his vibrant spirit.

A graveside service with military honors will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at Sixteenth Section Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816
