Obituary

Patricia Ann Wolfe passed away June 1, 2021, at age 85. She was born to Margaret and William Myers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 14, 1935. Pat grew up in and around the Pittsburgh area and attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She loved teaching and, in 1961, traveled on her own to the island of Okinawa to teach Third grade in the American Dependent School at Naha Air Force Base. It is there that she met her future husband of 59 years, then First Lieutenant Jack Wolfe. They married the following year in the chapel at Reese Air Force Base, Texas.  Pat spent the next 23 years as the model Air Force wife. She successfully coped with the myriad of problems and frustrations engendered by frequent tour of duty separations from her husband while raising two amazing and successful sons, Richard and Craig. She navigated the numerous challenges brought about by the all-too-frequent relocations that are a part of life in the military. If there were things that needed to be done, she did them.  If there were problems, she solved them. All without losing her terrific sense of humor.  She loved to travel. Summer trips all over the country became a family tradition when the kids were growing up, and weeks and months on the road in their RV after Jack retired. All in all she visited 46 states and also spent several weeks in both England and Germany.  She loved playing bridge, and she was good at it. Pat was a charter member of a bridge group formed at Little Rock Air Force Base in the 1970's and still active today.  She developed a number of close friendships within the group, not surprising since she was just easy to like. Everyone who came in contact with Pat recognized what a loving and caring person she was.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Jack; her two sons, Richard and Craig; her daughters-in-law, Mary and Diane; her grandsons, John and his wife, Melissa, Anthony, and her brother and his wife, Bill and Jane Myers.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home followed by an informal reception at her home in Cabot.
