She was born January 24, 1930 in Texarkana, Arkansas and spent much of her youth living in Eudora. She met her husband, Jack Lowman, at Ouachita Baptist College and after graduating in 1951, she moved to Cabot where she taught Home Economics. She was highly respected as a fine Christian woman who loved her children, her church and her charmed life with her husband Jack of 64 years.

The greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she took great pleasure in being a source of toys, fun clothes, food and endless love. She worked alongside her husband for many decades at Lowman & Lowman, the family hardware business, keeping books and managing the stores fine gifts, china and interior decorating services for local residents and builders. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over seven decades where she served in countless capacities including Sunday school teacher, youth and women's leader, and an annual leader in creatively decorating the church for Christmas. She lived her strong Christian faith by example, through service and with a tireless compassion for people. She was a founding member of the Cabot chapter of the P.E.O. women's philanthropic organization.

She was constantly traveling to keep her grandchildren or watch their ballgames or attend their activities. She was an accomplished cook who could always be counted on to host large family gatherings making sure to have everyone's favorite dessert or dish. Her children and family will always lovingly remember her as a sweet, classy, fun mother who dressed stylishly, had impeccable manners, was kind spoken to everyone and totally dedicated to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Lowman; her parents, Floyd Walker and Ruth Dyke Duke, and her sister, Evelyn Duke Hussing.
