Peter Steven
Cook
Mar 30, 1956 — Jan 26, 2020
Peter Steven Cook, 63, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020. He was born March 30, 1956 in Maryville, Tennessee to Paul Edward Cook, Jr. and Joyce Mae Murray Cook. Pete graduated from Cabot High School in 1975 where he played basketball and ran track. He went to flight school in Tulsa, was a pilot for a private corporation and a flight instructor. He had his own lawn service, his CDL, worked with his brother doing waterproofing, worked construction, surveying, and developed skills in many other fields.
Pete loved being outdoors, including fishing, scuba diving, water skiing, riding his motorcycle, boating, hiking and swimming. He was a great man who loved life with more gusto than most of us ever could, and he was a man who knew how to love people. Pete was a loyal friend and would drop whatever he was doing if someone needed help. He loved his family and was loved dearly by them. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Paul.
Survivors include the love of his life, Cathy Fletcher; her daughter, Shawna (Mike) Dunlap and their sons, Gavin and Gabriel; mother, Joyce Cook; sister, Rose (Bruce) Twedt; brother, David (Bonita) Cook; niece, Jennifer (Travis) Newman; great-niece, Blakeley Newman and many other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. The family suggests donations in memory of Peter Steven Cook to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
Special Note:
The memorial service will be a celebration of Pete's life and the many lives he touched. If Pete touched your life in a special way, or if you have a funny story to share, the family is asking you to either share it on the guestbook page of the funeral home website, or write it on a card to bring with you to the memorial service. There have already been many stories shared and we can't read them all, but we will share as many as possible. They will be a testimony to his life.
Thank you,
The Cook Family
