Obituary

Randall N. H. Odom, 89, of Cabot, was received into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 1, 2024.  He was born April 8, 1934 in Lonoke, Arkansas to the late Hiram "Newt" and Hester Brannon Odom.  Randall was one of ten siblings born into the Odom family.  His father traveled and worked as a farmhand, leaving his wife and children to manage the household themselves.  After the death of his mother, when he was just thirteen, he lived with his siblings until he joined the United States Air Force at the age of seventeen.  Randall served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in his military career. Randall was a proud American until the day he died.

In 1976, because of his hard work, he was able to buy property in Cabot.  He was so proud to finally have property which he owned and worked with his own hands. It was a place for his family to grow. He even raised rheas and emus.  Randall loved birds, even the one that would escape and he would have to chase it all over the property. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, loving husband, father and Pawpaw. Randall loved his family, but the person he loved the most was Jesus.  In his final days, he wept and told everyone how much he loved them and how Jesus had changed his life.  In addition to his parents, Randall was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Ann Odom; children, Randy Lynn, Coy Lee and Rita Faye Odom; brothers, Obie, Wilburn, Coy, Willard, Collins and Bill Odom; sisters, Ona Odom New, Syble Odom Larkin and Shelby Jean Odom Hardin.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marietta Odom; daughters, Gwen Jones (Jim), Barbara Curtis (Gerald) and Sherry Allen (Greg); son, Michael Odom; grandchildren, Sarah Dillion (Grant), Nathanael Jones (Sahvanna), Josh Odom (Rhina), Tyler Odom, Alex Odom, Brittany Jones and Mindy Doss; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Noah Jones, Braelyn Jones, Delilah Odom and Madison Doss, as well as countless nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Victory Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Lonoke Cemetery.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
