Richard Edwin
Raml, Sr.
Apr 16, 1960 — Feb 10, 2025
Richard Edwin Raml, Sr., 64, of Cabot, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born on April 16, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Edwin Donald and Lucille Delia Price Raml.
Richard married the love of his life, Mechele, on July 29, 1978, and together they built a beautiful life. He started his career as a butcher, learning the value of hard work from his father. Richard later worked as a milkman before transitioning to the baking industry. He and his wife were distributors of bread and later became Vice President of Sales for Flowers Foods, affectionately known as "The Bread Man." He was respected for his dedication and humility in all his endeavors.
In addition to his professional achievements, Richard and Mechele shared a deep passion for sports. They both officiated Pop Warner football, fast pitch softball, and high school basketball, football, and volleyball, even having the honor of officiating an SEC volleyball game together. Richard was an accomplished athlete in his youth, playing basketball, football, and running track, and later enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his sons.
Richard was also a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment with them. He was a man of great kindness, patience, and faith. Richard loved his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand or a kind word. He believed in the goodness of people and often said, "We'll figure it out" when faced with challenges. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved serving at church events and being an active member of his church community.
Richard will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, and the love he freely shared with others. He was a true friend to Shelly, a gentle giant, and a man of Christian faith whose impact will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtle and Vernon Price. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly, along with many friends whose lives he touched.
Mr. Raml is survived by his best friend and wife, Mechele Carerros Raml (Shelly); their children: Tammy Raml (Loyce (Mike) Walker), Tina Underwood, Tonya Talley (David), Richard Raml, Jr. (Milagros (Milly) Raml), Russell Raml (Christy), Bree Raml (Khristian Binnall), Joseph Raml, and Dr. Renxuen Xie (Dr. Yizhou Fang); grandchildren: Blake (Robin), Austin (Kim), Anthony, Sydney, Branzon, Kayla (Nathan), Seth, Amber, Elijah (Sarahanne), Emmanuel (Manny) DeArmas (Allie), Isaiah (Breana), Elisha, Caiden Avery.
