Obituary

Robert Kerry Coleman, 83, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024.  He was born June 8, 1940 in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Abner and Alice Davis Coleman.  Mr. Coleman proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962 and then for six more years in the Reserves.  He was a graduate of Ole Miss and University of Arkansas.  Following his military career, he devoted the remainder of his working days to education.  He served students of Arkansas as a coach, history teacher, principal and superintendent.  He also coached for a couple of years in Mississippi.  Mr. Coleman eventually moved from the teaching/administrative aspect of education to the Arkansas State Department of Education and he worked for Raney and Beardsley, a Little Rock financial firm, helping schools with financing and bonding issues.  In his spare time, he was a published author.  The books he wrote are "Anna's Town", "Sheltered Dreams" and "Storms Never Lost".

Those left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his wife, Maxine Coleman; children, Rob Coleman (Marion) and Allison Silva (Osmani); grandchildren, Justin, Dallas, Kindal, Cash, Kyler and Griffin; bonus grandchildren, Osmani, Jr., Kennia, Jordy, Josue, Bobby, Allison, Kenry, Mason, Ayden and Dylan, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Tula Baptist Church in Tula, MS with interment to follow in Tula Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (in Arkansas) and Coleman Funeral Home (in Mississippi).
