Rodney Brandon Ford, age 57, of Cabot, passed away on January 9, 2025 after two battles with cancer.  He was born June 26, 1967 in Benton to Donald and Annette Ford.  After graduating from Benton High School in 1986, he attended Henderson State University where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. After teaching choir for several years, Rodney received his Master's Degree in School Counseling from Harding University. Throughout his years in education, he taught choir at England Elementary, Humphrey, Watson Chapel Junior High, and Watson Chapel Senior High. Rodney was a School Counselor at Watson Chapel, Palestine/Wheatley, Hazen, and Des Arc. In 2017, he became a Program Advisor in School Counseling at the Arkansas Department of Education. After 29 years of service, he retired this past summer. His retirement plans included baking for loved ones, working at the church, taking care of his daylilies, helping school counselors, having dinner on the table every night for Susan, and of course, portraying Santa.

Rodney was not only involved in education, but he was also active in the Music Ministry since he was 20 years old. He was currently serving as Music Minister at Carlisle First Baptist Church where he served for over 12 years.  Rodney was preceded in death by his dad, Donald H. Ford, and his grandparents, Ruth Boyd, James Boyd, and Vernon and Virginia Ford.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Susan of 34 years; his mom, Annette Ford; his brothers, Boyd Ford (Mark) and Mark Ford. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends who love him dearly.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church Carlisle. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
