Ron
Richardson
Sep 22, 1948 — Jan 15, 2023
James Ronnie "Ron" Richardson moved into eternity with Jesus on January 15, 2023. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Eugene Richardson and Virginia Helen (James) Richardson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Richardson; three daughters, Kristie Daniel (Stephen), Kamille Best, and Kim Simmons (Ronnie); one son, Chris Cason (Jana); ten grandchildren—Madison Daniel, Koral Swinney (Jacob), Kaitlyn Rogel (Jose), Bryant Cason, Bailey Best, Ethan Best, Katie Cason, Kameron Best, Samuel Simmons, and Kinsley Best; and three great grandchildren—Israel Swinney, Hudson Rogel, and Klaire Swinney. He is also survived by his brother Richie (Janie).
Ron graduated from Trumann High School. He went on to attend Arkansas State University and graduated with a bachelor of science in psychology. He served our country in the United States Air Force and then went on to work there for 20 years as a civilian.
James Ronnie "Ron" Richardson lived out the words of the apostle Paul on January 15, 2023. The time of his departure came. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith. There was laid up for him a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, awarded to him on that day. Today he is in the presence of our Lord! Ron passed away peacefully with his family gathered around his bedside. He was encouraged to run into the arms of Jesus by those who loved him most. During the hours preceding his death, the room came alive with laughter whenever one of Ron's children or grandchildren would recall one of the many "Popisms" that Ron shared during his lifetime. Everyone who knew him was familiar with his ability to lighten the mood in any room instantly with a "Let me sweeten that up for you" when having a drink, or a "Glad you got to see me" before leaving.
Family meant everything to Ron. The love of his life was his wife, Rhonda. He was incomplete without her. The two of them were inseparable from the time they found each other and married back in 1980. They were a great team, whether it was Ron's insurance business, the Mt. Carmel men's softball team, their love for and commitment to their church family, or their relationships with their family and friends. When you saw one, you saw the other. Ron's greatest accomplishment in life was his love and commitment to his family. He always made time to celebrate those he loved. He was so proud of every accomplishment his family members made. He would always reach out with a phone call, a visit, or even a notecard to let family members know he was proud of them. For the family, life will not be the same without his presence. Every holiday, birthday, and celebration will contain a void that no one else can fill. His wit, humor, and ability to put away some fried chicken were unparalleled. Ron was so proud that his family knew Jesus and that we all shared his love for Jesus. He would want you to know this love too. It is what sustained him throughout his life.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 am. The family requests that attendees wear Razorback red or any Razorback gear to the service in honor of Ron's love for the Razorbacks. Bro. Mitch Tapson will be officiating the ceremony, joined by Bro. Jerry Miller. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.
