Rose Mae
Taylor
Oct 9, 1937 — May 1, 2025
Rose Mae Taylor, age 87, began her journey to heaven peacefully on May 1, 2025. She was born October 9, 1937, in Lonoke to the late William Dyke Eagle and Maydelle Norene Rowe. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in the Mt. Zion Community in Lonoke County, where she lived most of her life. She graduated valedictorian from Midway High School and married her high school sweetheart, the late Jimmie Taylor, in 1953.
She was a good and faithful servant at church, in the family, and within her beloved community. And boy could she ever cook! She will be remembered for her sweet smile, kindness, always giving to others and never expecting anything in return. She spent the majority of her working life, and found the most fulfillment, serving and greeting the students in the Cabot School District. She found so much joy cooking for others and loved all the children that came through her cafeteria.
She was certainly an angel on earth and if you knew her you loved her, and she loved you. She loved gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, crocheting and making customized cakes for many birthdays, showers and weddings. We have the assurance that she will be waiting in Heaven for us.
She was a tremendous athlete and loved basketball and all sports. She was a beloved fan of her daughter's Conway Wampus Cat teams and rarely missed a game. She loved the players as her own and often provided them with special homemade treats.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Janet Taylor, Judy (Brian) Allen, and Kim Taylor; her grandchildren, Chase (Kristi) Bunker, Chelsi (Coby) Applewhite, Katlee Taylor-Freasier, Seth (Madison) Allen, Marykathryn Allen, Andrew Allen; her great-grandchildren, Kennedi and Emmalyn Bunker, Cooper Applewhite, Brix Harris; her brother and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Barbara Taylor, Peggy Eagle, and Virginia Eagle; special bonus daughters, Lisa Sigler and Brandi Snyder; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins as well as a host of close-as-family church members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Taylor; precious son, Jimmy Don Taylor; granddaughter, Rosie Mae Applewhite; siblings, Bill Eagle, George Eagle, Betty Magness, Rebecca Wilson and Doris Walker.
The entire family would like to thank Rose's caregivers, Melanie Sanchez and the entire staff at Greystone Nursing and Rehabilitation for their dedication, compassion, and constant support throughout all stages of her journey. Memorials may be made to the Greystone Nursing and Rehab Activities Fund.
