Samuel Leland Kirk, 78, of Beebe, passed away December 19, 2019. He was born May 14, 1941 in Palestine to the late John Casey and Annie Laura Carrigan Kirk. Mr. Kirk proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard for eight years. He retired with the rank of Sergeant. His Army career was followed by a twenty-four and a half year career with J. A Riggs Caterpillar. Mr. Kirk was an ordained minister, song leader, Sunday School teacher and member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Beebe. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, the outdoors and he never met a stranger. Mr. Kirk was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Clara Mae Clement, Louise Heslep, Arlene Miller and brothers, Joe, Tom and J.C. Kirk.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Laura Kirk; children, John (Melinda) Kirk, Michael (Tracy) Kirk, Laura (Bill) Glover, Jerry (Pam) Kirk, Lori (Tim) Green, Steven and Tony Bressie; sisters, Carolyn (Martin) Ausburn, Joyce Wright and Billie Norman; brother, James (Sybil) Kirk; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many friends.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Beebe with Brother Doyle Ford officiating. Cremation arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
