Shirley Ruth Benton, 74, of Cabot, passed away at her home Friday, September 22, 2023. Shirley was born September 14, 1949 in Jacksonville to the late John and Sarah Ruth Doran McNew. Shirley worked for many years at Brown's Dairy Bar and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Howard Benton and a brother, John McNew.

Left to cherish her memory and to miss her dearly are her daughter, Melissa (Cara) Douglas of Cabot, as well as extended family members and friends.
