Shirley Carroll beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025 at the age of 80.  She was born May 10, 1945 in Devonshire, England to the late Urban William and Estella O'Connell Goth.  Shirley was a proud Navy veteran and a devoted nurse.  She dedicated her life to the service of others – both in her country and community, but her true life's work was found in the love she poured into her family.  Shirley was the cherished wife of Raymond Carroll, loving mother of Kim, Mike and John, and the heart of a growing family that includes grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many who lovingly called here "Mom" in more than just name.  She was a woman of remarkable intellect and endless talent.  A master gardener and an extraordinary artisan, she transformed everyday materials into heirlooms – through intricate smocking, detailed quilting, the ancient art of spinning wool and weaving.  Shirley couldn't turn water into wine, but could she could make warmth, beauty and comfort out of thread and time.  Her life was a testament to quiet strength, practical magic and unconditional love. Shirley's legacy lives on in every garden she inspired, every quilt she stitched and every heart she touched.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
