Obituary

Stacey Brantley, 45, of Cabot, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born May 24, 1979 in Little Rock. Stacey was many things, but above all, she was a devoted mother who cherished her three daughters deeply. She supported them in every possible way.  Stacey was also a loving wife. A chance encounter brought her together with a man visiting family in town. He recognized her vibrant spirit and lively personality, took a leap of faith to introduce himself, and eventually became her husband. Throughout Stacey's battle with cancer, she was never alone. Along with her girls, her husband, Barry, stood by her side, and accompanying her every step of the way were her best friends, Jamie and Michelle.

Stacey had a profound love for her family and truly took charge of family gatherings. She ensured that everyone felt cared for, included, and had a great time, always making sure the family called the Hogs before the event concluded. A gifted storyteller, she brought laughter to every occasion, and when it came to family games, her competitive spirit shone through. A beloved cheese log became a staple at family events, and Stacey made it clear that two were needed – one for everyone to share and one for her to enjoy privately.

She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Arkansas State University and dedicated her career to education, positively impacting countless students and leaving behind an inspiring legacy. She was introduced to the teaching profession by her mother, Sherry, who was also a teacher. Stacey felt a calling to work in education and was a wonderful teacher for twenty-three years. In 2018, she was honored with the North Pulaski Teacher of the Year Award and in 2025, she received the Ward Central Teacher of the Year Award. Teaching was her true passion. She had a remarkable ability to connect with her students, nurture their trust, and guide them toward their full potential, even the challenging ones.

Preceding her in death were her mother and stepfather, Sherry and Keith Sanders and brothers, Jason Weaver and Travis Smith. Stacey is survived by her husband, Barry Brantley; daughters, Cadence Counts, Averie Counts and Jacie Brantley; father and stepmother, Louis and Patty Weaver; brothers, Chris Weaver and Dale Smith; father-in-law, Ronald "Bear" Brantley; mother-in-law, Debbie Brantley and brother-in-law, Corey Brantley, along with a host of extended family and friends.
