Sue Alice Utley, 82, of Austin passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was born August 12, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Alice Redford Hall Smith and Egbert Franklin Smith, Sr. Mrs. Utley was an active member of First Baptist Church Cabot from 1971 until her death. She taught Sunday school for 40 years, sang in the choir and was involved in many other volunteer positions throughout the church. She worked for a time at Cabot Insurance Agency and also was a piano tuner for 25 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, genealogy, making cards and had a tremendous love for her dog. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Utley was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Smith and a daughter, Amy Baker.

Mrs. Utley is survived by her husband, Bobby Utley; son, Johnnie Baker (Victoria) of Cabot; step-daughters, Suzan Utley and Kari Utley, both of Elkins, and Julie Tolman (Lynn) of Ward; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Hoover of Powhatan, Virginia and Virginia Hummel of Little Rock as well as a multitude of family members and friends.

Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Utley's name to First Baptist Church Cabot's building fund or to Hospice Home Care's Tribute of Life Foundation.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 and funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church Cabot. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.
