Obituary

Susie Ann Thomasson, 72, of Austin, entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born August 10, 1952 in Corning, Arkansas to the late Marvin Curtis and Mary Agnes Delaney Thaxton and was the youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Corning High School.

She met the love of her life of 54 years, Mike, at the skating rink. They only dated for two months before he proposed, and she was his "Suzie-Q" from that point on.

Susie was very close to her family and spent countless amounts of time with them, as it was very important to her. She loved so deeply and cherished every single moment. Not only did they create 3 beautiful girls, they also hosted several exchange students throughout the years. Susie was a very active member in church her whole life and always jumped at every opportunity to volunteer and share God's Word. She had a servant's heart and worked every year in Vacation Bible School doing crafts or helping with children. She loved working alongside her kids and grandkids at church and was always there at all their activities.

Susie and Mike's daily routine included stopping by their coffee spot for her favorite coffee, a Grande Decaf Mocha, (no whip, no foam), so much so, that everyone knew them so well, they didn't even have to order. As soon as they saw them or heard their voice come through the drive-thru, they would already know exactly what they wanted and would get it started. She was loved everywhere she went. She and her husband, Mike, were always together. She loved to watch her horses, donkeys and chickens run around the farm. She loved to play Bingo, but she found the most joy in being "Nana" and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Michele Thomasson and siblings, Shirley Ann Tyler, David Charles Thaxton and Marvine Dortch. Survivors include her husband, Michael Thomasson; daughters, Jennifer Probus (Michael) and Misty Anderson (Eric); seven grandchildren, Jessica Moore (Zach), Madison Tyler (Austin), Zachary Probus (Skylar), Hallie Anderson (J.T.), Darby Anderson (Paxton), Joshua Probus and Gillian Probus; great-grandson, Luka; brothers, Curtis Thaxton and Howard Thaxton, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
