Thomas Douglas "Doug" Ridgeway, 77, of Ward, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024.  He was born April 13, 1947 in Beedeville to the late Elvis and Dorothea House Ridgeway.  Doug was raised in McCrory.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970 and then in the National Guard.  He continued his work with veterans as a technician at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, retiring after twenty of service. Some of his favorite pastimes were people watching, fishing, bowling and just sitting on the porch watching the chickens and goats.  He was a big fan of Waffle House.  Doug was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church for over thirty years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Carter Ridgeway; daughters, Amanda McKeever (Joe) and Lisa Hatfield (Jason); son, Robbie Hess (Jessica); grandchildren, Ava Ratican, Mari-Lou Hess, Maverick Hess and Marshall Hess; step-grandson, Austin Burnett; sisters, Minnie Crafton (DerWayne), Darlias Baker (Joe) and Peggy Chopp (Jerry), as well as many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at New Horizon Baptist Church in Ward.  Interment will follow at Butlerville Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
