Thurman Edward Ellison, 80, of Quitman passed from this life Thursday, March 14, 2024. Thurman was born Thursday, July 22, 1943 in Wheatley to the late John and Alta Mae Boston Ellison. He was a carpenter, home builder, loved hunting and fishing, camping and playing cards. Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Bertha Louise and Patty Ellison; his siblings, Johnny Ellison, Jesse Ellison, Millie Harp, Glenda Joe Stokes and Pamela Harris.

Thurman is survived by his daughters, Janet and her husband Russell Stewart, Diane and her husband Jerry Moore; his sister, Debra Jean Akers; four grandchildren, Erin and her husband John Thompson, Kristen and her husband Austin Steinmetz, Jacob and his wife Shaylece Moore and Adam Moore; his three great-grandchildren, Reese Erin Steinmetz, Graham Isaac Steinmetz and Reid Asher Moore, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mountain Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
