Vivian June
Mitchell
Jul 16, 1953 — Sep 27, 2026
North Little Rock, AR
Vivian June Mitchell, 73, of North Little Rock, passed away September 27, 2026. Born July 16, 1953, in Russellville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Patsy Ruth West Woods. Vivian carried her love of Arkansas throughout her life and remained rooted in the community that raised her.
Vivian was the eldest of four children; a role that helped shape her steady, caring spirit. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1971 and after pursued her education in nursing, graduating from Ouachita Hospital Nursing School in 1972. She later returned to school, earning her RN through ASU. She served others first as a LPN and later as a pediatric nurse. In a profession that asks for patience, tenderness, and strength, Vivian gave all three generously.
Those who knew Vivian remember her as a woman of warmth, heart, and good humor. She built lasting and meaningful friendships through her active involvement as a sister of Beta Sigma Phi, where she attended sorority galas and luncheons. Vivian valued connection, and she had a natural way of making others feel welcomed and remembered.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Woods, JC and Patsy Ables, and a brother, Vic Woods.
Above all else, Vivian’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to Patricia Harvey, Jacob Nahlen (Tara), and Michael Nahlen (Stephanie). Her children were a blessing in her life, and she treasured the gift of being their mother. She was also lovingly known as Mimi to her many grandchildren, a title she embraced with delight and pride. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she gave them will remain part of their lives always. She is also survived by her sister, Libby Hignight; brother, Mike Ables (Lisa); sister-in-law, Lynn Woods; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Vivian will be fondly remembered, both for her love and kindness, as well as her hobbies that brought her happiness. Vivian had a deep love for the Arkansas Razorbacks and never hesitated to share her thoughts and tips on the coach. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life in the Natural State, especially camping and fishing. These interests reflected her appreciation for the beauty of the world around her and for time spent in the company of those she loved.
A constant in her life was Vivian’s faith. Vivian was a woman of Baptist faith, and her life was marked by the quiet strength and grace that so often accompany a life of belief. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in cherished memories, in the love she gave so freely, and in the hope of God’s abiding mercy.
Her family and friends will forever hold close the memory of her and the many ways she enriched their lives. Vivian June Mitchell leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
There will be a memorial service for Vivian at a later date. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816
