Obituary

Whitney "Whit" Grey Simpkins, 40, of Cabot, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026.  He was born February 17, 1985 in Searcy, Arkansas.  As a boy Whit enjoyed roaming the woods with his brother near his home and arrowhead hunting with his dad.  He attended Cabot High School and wanted to become a pilot in his younger years.  One of his hobbies was identifying plants and shrubs. Whit rescued his dog, Coco, and took her on long walks. He loved spending time with her.  Whit did not have a family of his own, but had many cherished life-long friends, Eric Alexander, Chris Miles, Marshall Searcy, Timothy Bernard, Jasper Robinson, Charley Duell and Matt Brown.

He was preceded in death by his dog, Coco; stepfather, Raymond Charles Dussex; maternal grandfather, David Neal Evans; paternal grandparents, Thurman and Ellen Simpkins; aunt, Joyce Robinson and niece, Lexie Simpkins.

Survivors include his mother, Laura Dussex; father, William Simpkins; brother, Paul Simpkins; aunt and uncle, Debbie and Bob Thomas; uncle and aunt, David and Donna Evans; aunt, Kathy Sass; aunt and uncle, Kathy and Bill West plus numerous extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Mount Carmel Cemetery pavillion. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
