Obituary

William Charles Rains, 77, of Cabot, passed away December 25, 2020 from complications of Parkinson's disease.  William was born May 20, 1943 in Bastrop, Louisiana to the late T.A. Rains, Jr. and Gertrude Whipple Rains. He was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana State College (now University of Louisiana, Monroe).

William worked for over 30 years as a government procurement manager at the Arkansas Office of State Procurement, the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, Pulaski County Government and the Pulaski County Special School District. William and Rebecca lived on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs for many years. They both enjoyed the "lake life" and were blessed to enjoy boating, frequent visits from family and friend, riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, as well as driving and maintaining special interest automobiles.

Those left to cherish William's memory include his wife of 30 years, Rebecca Faye Rains of Cabot; sons, William Chadwick "Chad" Rains and his husband, Filippo of Spain and Donald Waymack and his wife, Tawnya of Ward; grandson, Matthew Waymack and his wife, Kim, as well as their sons, Daniel and Austin Waymack, all of Ward; one sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Rains of Springfield, Missouri and extended family including two great granddaughters by marriage, Dakota and Blake Leigh Grisham of Ward.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
