Zel Dean Hardman, 89, of Austin, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023.  She was born June 16, 1933 in Humphrey, Arkansas to the late Otis and Grace Higgerson Gammel.  Zel Dean spent her working years in factories and especially enjoyed working for Jacuzzi.  She spent her later years as a cafeteria worker when her granddaughter was in school.  She grew up picking cotton and working on the farm in Arkansas County.  Zel Dean loved being in the country, having livestock and cooking.  She enjoyed reading and gardening, but her favorite "every" Monday activity was shopping and then going out to eat.  In addition to her parents, Zel Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Hardman; son, Richard Teal and six siblings, Calvin Gammel, Johnny Gammel, Otis Gammel Jr., Charles "Bo" Gammel, Brenda Gammel and Ruben Gammel.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Hardman, James Hardman (Lisa), Annette Teal, Olan Teal (Diana) and Troy Teal (Melanie); nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Gary Tomlinson will officiate.  Interment will be 1:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
